10.30am Coffee and welcome

11.00am Experience the visitor tour: the vineyard, rose garden and vegetable garden.

12.15pm Tearooms and shop, in a range of converted farm buildings.

We will taste the wines and enjoy a locally sourced, home-grown lunch, from the kitchens.

2.00 – 3.30pm:Move to the Conference Room. Discussion and round up to include:

  • What was the ‘visitor experience’ you took from the day?Discussion.
  • Marketing and promotion - presentation by Alex James
  • The vineyard and wine production.

Mark James is an ex-chairman of the CLA and current dairy farmer – farming 1023 acres of mixed arable, woodland and cows. He is politically motivated and hands-on.

Alex James is his wife, who with little option had to take over and expand the wine side of the estate. Being an actress for the Royal Shakespeare Company, her love of people has helped. Both work well together and with their team strive for success.

Leslie Stewart , Broadfield Court’s Manager, will also be on hand to talk about the enterprise through the day.
